Potential effects of microplastics (MP, plastic particles <5 mm) on the levels of multiple stress biomarkers were investigated in wild fish populations of Cyprinus carpio, Mugil cephalus, Platichthys flesus captured in the Minho River estuary located in the Iberian Peninsula. Specimens were collected in March and September 2018, corresponding to the end of winter and summer, respectively. Based on the concentration of MP determined by FT-IR analysis and morphological inspection, fishes from each species were divided into two groups: ≤0.

Cell therapy plays an important and promising role in refractory ALL cases. The aim is to present a complex case of a 20-year-old male patient with relapsed ALL and to explore the different therapeutic options of cellular therapy - allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, donor lymphocyte infusion, and chimeric antigen receptor T - detailing the collection, processing, and infusion, as well as the associated complications and management strategies.

Influenza A and B viruses represent significant global health threats, contributing substantially to morbidity and mortality rates. However, a comprehensive understanding of the molecular epidemiology of these viruses in Brazil, a continental-size country and a crucial hub for the entry, circulation, and dissemination of influenza viruses within South America, still needs to be improved. This study addresses this gap by consolidating data and samples across all Brazilian macroregions, as part of the Center for Viral Surveillance and Serological Assessment project, together with an extensive number of other Brazilian sequences provided by a public database during the epidemic seasons spanning 2021-23.

This study investigated the impact of competition between native submerged aquatic macrophytes (SAMs) ( and ) and the exotic , recognized for its invasive potential in aquatic ecosystems, through a mesocosm experiment conducted over six months. Two treatments were evaluated: the intraspecific competition of and an interspecific competition involving all three species.
