The most effective evaluation methods for frailty and malnutrition are yet to be delineated, despite being proposed as predictors of adverse outcomes. Patients And Methods: We identified patients ≥55 years with a first-ever s-ICH between 2015 and 2018 in Southern Denmark (population 1.2 million).
Background: The impact of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) use on worsening renal function is controversial and lacks a solid pathophysiological explanation.
Objective: To assess the risk of worsening renal function and acute kidney injury (AKI) in PPI initiators as compared with H2-blockers initiators.
Design: Retrospective cohort study using longitudinal records from BIGAN, a population-based health database of Aragón (Spain).
Importance: Patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) can have an ischemic stroke (IS) despite oral anticoagulant (OAC) treatment. Knowledge regarding the association between OAC discontinuation and the subsequent risk of recurrent IS in patients with AF is limited.
Objectives: To determine the risk of recurrent IS in patients with AF receiving OAC and to evaluate the association between OAC discontinuation and the risk of recurrent IS.
