Background: Health literacy can influence self-management, leading to improved health outcomes in pediatric patients with venous thrombotic events (VTEs).
Objectives: To assess general health literacy in adolescents and parents/caregivers of children diagnosed with VTE, and their perception and satisfaction with overall thrombosis-related knowledge, thrombosis knowledge compared to that of other conditions, and beliefs regarding thrombosis knowledge importance.
Methods: Patients aged 10 to 18 years with VTE history and parents/caregivers of patients aged 0 to 18 years with VTE attending clinic were recruited in this cross-sectional study.
Objective: To assess the prevalence of changes on computed tomography (CT) in Graves' orbitopathy (GO) and to correlate those changes with disease activity, as well as with clinical and biochemical variables.
Materials And Methods: This was a retrospective study, conducted at a tertiary hospital, of clinical, biochemical, and imaging data from consecutive patients with GO who underwent at least one orbital CT scan between July 2012 and December 2020. A single observer quantified the thickness of the extraocular muscles and the degree of proptosis.
Introduction: The pediatric direct oral anticoagulation (DOAC) trials provide an opportunity to evaluate and characterize challenges in their design and execution to inform future antithrombotic trials.
Objective: To perform a systematic review of pediatric DOAC trials for the treatment of venous thromboembolism to critically appraise their methodology and understand the feasibility and challenges.
Methods: Systematic search of MEDLINE, EMBASE, the Cochrane Library and ClinicalTrials.
Objective: This paper aims to review the efficacy and safety of current chronic urticaria (CU) treatment in children and the existing patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) used in this age group.
Data Source: Since there are few studies of CU in children, the authors performed a non-systematic review of published articles in English, Spanish, and Portuguese in the PubMed database in the last decade. Keywords used were (antihistamines OR omalizumab OR cyclosporine OR treatment) AND (chronic urticaria) AND (children OR adolescents).
