Evaluation of environmental factors related to Aspergillus fumigatus azole resistance in the Netherlands.

Emergence of azole-resistant Aspergillus fumigatus represents a concern for public health worldwide. Here we applied a spatial analysis to a large number of records on A. fumigatus azole resistance in the Netherlands to evaluate the relationship of a set of environmental factors with the emergence of resistant isolates and to identify the potential risk areas.

Introduction: Sarcopenia is a chronic pathological condition, first defined in 2010 and revised in 2018. The most recent definition of sarcopenia focuses mostly on "low muscle strength." The research aimed to analyse the effect of simulated microgravity and hypergravity on relative growth rate (RGR), morphological characteristics, protein content, and the correlation between plant size and growth rate of Wolffia globosa.

Sexual dysfunctions in inflammatory bowel disease: role of Mediterranean diet and quality of life.

Background: Dietary factors and chronic gastrointestinal diseases are frequent determinants of sexual dysfunctions (SD). Whether inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) are associated with SD is not well known as well as the role of diet and quality of life (QoL).

Objectives: To evaluate the prevalence of SD in a cohort of IBD patients and assess the role of clinical-demographic variables, adherence to Mediterranean diet (MD) and QoL.

[Guidelines for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of obesity. Update 2024].

This document updates the "Clinical practice guidelines for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of obesity" issued by the Nutrition Committee of the Argentine Pediatric Society, published in Archivos Argentinos de Pediatría in 2011. Obesity has a multifactorial etiology. It is recommended to diagnose it taking into account anthropometry, personal and family history, and clinical data that indicate complications (sleep apnea, elevated alanine transaminase and/or glycemia, and other components of the metabolic syndrome).
