Objectives: In combined first trimester screening for Down syndrome, Pregnancy-Associated Plasma Protein A (PAPP-A) is pivotal. PAPP-A tests evaluate total PAPP-A, consisting of the biologically active free PAPP-A (fPAPP-A) and PAPP-A complexed with eosinophil major basic protein's proform (proMBP). While PAPP-A is well-researched, limited understanding persists regarding fPAPP-A's first trimester concentrations and diagnostic utility.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy (sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV) and negative predictive value (NPV)) of the PCR-based BioFire® Joint Infection Panel (BJI Panel) against microbiological culture growth for patients suspected of having a native or prosthetic joint infection.

Methods: Synovial fluid and tissue biopsies were prospectively collected from patients from June 2022 to June 2023. The results of the BJI Panel were compared with those of culture growth.

Background: Before administration of myelosuppressive chemotherapy, complete blood counts (CBC) collected at the hospital/nursing stations are evaluated to avoid severe bone marrow suppression. This maintains disease fixation which often reduces their quality of life. Background: In Greenland, the COVID-19 pandemic was characterised by a late onset of community transmission and a low impact on the healthcare system, hypothesised as being partly due to a high uptake of vaccinations. To underpin this description, we aimed to assess the SARS-CoV-2 immune response post-vaccination in a Greenlandic population.

Methods: In this observational cohort study, we included 430 adults in Greenland who had received a complete two-dose SARS-CoV-2 vaccination at enrolment.
