The UK National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance for the treatment of depression is widely followed and has international influence. According to these guidelines, antidepressant medications are recommended for moderate to severe depression. Nonetheless, antidepressants are increasingly prescribed, including for cases of subthreshold and mild depression.

Stress Appraisal Measure: Investigating the Factor Structure and Validity in the French Language.

The Stress Appraisal Measure (SAM) captures six different types of cognitive appraisals in anticipation of an upcoming stressful situation. The goal of this article was to examine the factorial structure and the validity of the scale in the French language while accounting for existing limitations in the literature. These include factorial structure instability and low internal consistency for specific subscales across multiple validation studies in other languages.

Enriching qualitative alcohol and other drug research by engaging lived experience peer researchers in a dual-interview approach: A case study.

Introduction: Engaging people with lived experience of alcohol and other drug use as peer researchers in qualitative research is becoming more common. However, there are differing opinions on how to best engage and support peer researchers.

Case Presentation: Through this case study the researchers aimed to illustrate the potential benefits of a peer/academic researcher dual-interview approach as a qualitative method in research.
