Accelerated Endosomal Escape of Splice-Switching Oligonucleotides Enables Efficient Hepatic Splice Correction.

Splice-switching oligonucleotides (SSOs) can restore protein functionality in pathologies and are promising tools for manipulating the RNA-splicing machinery. Delivery vectors can considerably improve SSO functionality in vivo and allow dose reduction, thereby addressing the challenges of RNA-targeted therapeutics. Here, we report a biocompatible SSO nanocarrier, based on redox-responsive disulfide cross-linked low-molecular-weight linear polyethylenimine (cLPEI), for overcoming multiple biological barriers from subcellular compartments to en-route serum stability and finally in vivo delivery challenges.

Beyond disability: A scientometric review of quality of life in developmental disabilities.

Quality of Life (QoL) is a crucial concept that pertains to an individual's perception of their position in life. In the context of developmental disabilities, QoL is pivotal for improving evidence-based practices, providing support and organizing services for individuals, thereby enabling them to achieve their potential with dignity and equality. Despite its importance, QoL has often not been the primary focus in many studies on developmental disabilities and remains less developed compared to other research areas.

Triple M overlap syndrome following pembrolizumab treatment: importance of multidisciplinary approach.

The increasing use of immune checkpoint inhibitors in clinical practice is associated with a broad spectrum of immune-related adverse events, such as cardiac, rheumatological and neurological toxicities. Myocarditis is a life-threatening complication, and the concurrent development of myocarditis, myositis and/or myasthenia leads to difficulties in diagnosis, management and treatment. We describe a case presenting with this triple M overlap syndrome following pembrolizumab treatment.

Incidence of bleeding during and after two non-surgical periodontal therapy schemes in patients with recent acute coronary syndrome on dual antiplatelet therapy: A pilot study.

Background: This study aimed to compare the incidence of bleeding using two periodontal treatment protocols in patients with recent Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS).

Material And Methods: This is an interim analysis of a double-blind controlled clinical trial evaluating two periodontal treatment schemes in patients with recent ACS treated with different dual antiplatelet regimens: Clopidogrel+ASA, Prasugrel+ASA and Ticagrelor+ASA. After randomisation six patients (22 quadrants) were treated with Scheme A (scaling and root planning-SRP) and six patients (21 quadrants) with Scheme B (ultrasonic scaling-US).

This process is essential to continuously maintain stable postural control, autonomic regulation, and self-motion perception. The nodulus/uvula (NU) in the posterior cerebellar vermis is known to integrate canal and otolith vestibular input to signal angular and linear head motion in relation to gravity.
