Fibers coated with nanoparticles have diverse applications as catalysts, biosensors, tissue scaffolds, and adsorbents for contaminants in water purification. However, current fabrication techniques employ multistep processes that often result in uneven nanoparticle coatings, consequently leading to reduced activity. Here we present a single-step microfluidics-based approach for the generation of microfibers with uniformly coated nanoparticles.

Objective: Male breast cancer (MBC) is a rare malignancy, representing less than 1% of all breast cancer cases. Despite the rising incidence, MBC research remains limited, with most data extrapolated from female breast cancer (FBC). This study evaluated the clinicopathological features, treatment strategies, and survival outcomes of MBC patients in Portugal over two decades.

: Brazil has a high incidence of new tuberculosis cases influenced by socioeconomic factors. Inadequate housing, limited access to health services, and insufficient food increase vulnerability to the disease. This study aimed to identify sociodemographic, nutritional, and anthropometric factors associated with active pulmonary tuberculosis.

This work explores the deposition of hexagonal (-) LuMnO thin films in the phase and investigates the conditions under which the synergy of ferroelectric and photoactive properties, can be achieved to confirm the potential of this material for applications in the development of next-generation photovoltaic devices. Single-phase -LuMnO was successfully deposited on different substrates, and the thermal stability of the material was confirmed by Micro-Raman spectroscopy analysis from 77 to 850 K, revealing the suitable ferro- to para-electric transition near 760 K. Optical measurements confirm the relatively narrow band gap at 1.

Introduction: This study investigates the impact of HTLV-2 infection on small RNA (sRNA) expression profiles, building on previous findings related to HTLV-1.

Methods: Using Illumina Massive Parallel Sequencing, we analyzed sRNA profiles from asymptomatic HTLV-1 and HTLV-2 infected individuals and healthy controls.

Results: Our results reveal significant differential expression of 331 known and 441 novel sRNAs among the groups, including miRNAs, piRNAs, and tRNAs.
