To address a gap in our understanding of viral infections in epidemiologically important rat species, we aimed to detect DNA viruses from the tissues of free-ranging rat populations in Hungary. DNA viruses were identified from the parenchymal organs of 230 and , using family-specific pan-PCR assays followed by sequencing of the PCR products. Adeno-, herpes-, circo-, and polyomaviruses were detected, while irido-, pox-, and dependoparvoviruses were not.

Recently, fully tuneable non-reciprocal optical interaction has been demonstrated between levitated nanoparticles. Here we use this tunability to investigate the collective non-Hermitian dynamics of two non-reciprocally and nonlinearly interacting nanoparticles.

This study is the first to report the emergence of serovar Ohio in brown rats () and food-producing animals in Hungary. We first reveal the genomic diversity of the strains and their phylogenomic relationships in the context of the international collection of .

Accidentally found, two poisoned brown rats from Hungary were surveyed for presence of circoviral DNA, using specific nested primers, designed against the rep gene of the virus. Both specimens were positive. The whole genomes were amplified using inverse PCR based on the Rep sequence parts and sequenced by the primer walking method.

Over a 27-week period from April to October, 57 hedgehogs were captured in an urban park and kept for 10-14 days in animal house. All dropped off ticks were sampled, which allowed us to draw more a detailed picture of -hedgehog relationships.
