Unlabelled: The World Health Organization (WHO) 2030 roadmap for schistosomiasis calls for development of highly sensitive and specific diagnostic tools to continue and sustain progress towards elimination. Serological assays are excellent for sensitive detection of primary schistosome infections and for schistosomiasis surveillance in near- and post-elimination settings. To develop accurate assay formats, it is necessary to identify defined antibody targets with low cross-reactivity and potential for standardized production.

Objective: To study information needs after receiving abnormal amyloid-PET results, and how individual characteristics moderate effects of different communication strategies on information recall.

Methods: In an online video-vignette experiment, seven vignettes each depicted a consultation of a physician sharing abnormal amyloid-PET results with a patient with Mild Cognitive Impairment(MCI), using different communication strategies. Healthy individuals (N = 1017; age 64 ± 8, 808(79 %) female), instructed to imagine themselves as the video-patient, viewed a randomly-assigned vignette and completed questionnaires to assess information needs and test moderation effects of gender, age, care-partner experience, health literacy, and coping.

Article Synopsis
  • This study compared stroke volume estimates from various anatomical sites in healthy dogs and aimed to create reference intervals for specific volume indices like shunt volume and regurgitant volume.
  • Ninety healthy dogs underwent echocardiography to assess stroke volume at different valve levels, with repeat tests for consistency, using methods like Bland-Altman plots for analysis.
  • Results indicated that different echocardiographic methods for measuring stroke volume produced significant variations, highlighting the need for unique reference intervals to evaluate heart conditions in dogs effectively.

To assess the cost-effectiveness of low-dose aspirin compared to placebo for the prevention of recurrent preterm birth from a healthcare perspective. This was a cost-effectiveness analysis alongside a multicenter, randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial. We included women with a singleton pregnancy and a previous spontaneous preterm birth <37 weeks of gestation of a singleton.
