Aims: To evaluate the potential efficacy, safety and tolerability of aleglitazar as monotherapy or add-on therapy to metformin or to a sulphonylurea (either alone or in combination with metformin).

Methods: We conducted a pooled analysis of data from three randomized phase III clinical trials of aleglitazar in patients with type 2 diabetes (n = 591). Background: Continuous erythropoietin receptor activator (CERA; methoxy polyethylene glycol-epoetin beta) is a new erythropoiesis-stimulating agent with a prolonged half-life. The objective of this study was to select a starting dose of CERA for the treatment of anemia in non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients.
