Co-designing an Outreach Intervention for Women Experiencing Street-Involvement and Gender-Based Violence: Community-Academic Partnerships in Action.

Outreach is an important approach to improve health and social care for women experiencing street involvement (SI) or gender-based violence (GBV). Few studies have examined outreach approaches that incorporate SI and GBV. Drawing on feminist theories and principles of community-based research, we detail an inclusive co-design approach for an outreach intervention considering these interrelated contexts.

ART IN MEDICINE: A RETROSPECTIVE ON THE ANATOMICAL DRAWINGS OF CHARLES BELL.

Perhaps best known for his discovery of the eponymous syndrome 'Bell's Palsy', Charles Bell (1774-1842) made significant contributions to neuroscience, medical education and philosophy. Our aim was to examine his neuroanatomical drawings in the context of the era in which they were produced and their influence on future scholars. Emphasis is placed on analysing the artistic techniques employed and Bell's unique manner of conveying both structure and function.

In vitro analyses of suspected arrhythmogenic thin filament variants as a cause of sudden cardiac death in infants.

Sudden unexpected death of an infant (SUDI) is a devastating occurrence for families. To investigate the genetic pathogenesis of SUDI, we sequenced >70 genes from 191 autopsy-negative SUDI victims. Ten infants sharing a previously unknown variant in troponin I (TnI) were identified.

Multimodality imaging of a pulmonary artery sarcoma.

Pulmonary artery sarcoma is a rare malignant neoplasm. Here, we describe a patient with a pulmonary artery sarcoma, which was only subtly visible and therefore not fully appreciated on initial transthoracic echocardiogram. Characterization of the tumor was aided by the use of multimodality imaging that included computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and positron emission tomography.

The accessibility and utilization of genetic testing for inherited heart rhythm disorders: a Canadian cross-sectional survey study.

The genetic basis of many sudden death-related conditions has been elucidated. These include inherited arrhythmias and arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathies, termed inherited heart rhythm disorders (IHRD). Advising on and interpreting genetic testing is challenging for the general cardiologist.
