Background: Despite syntheses of evidence showing efficacy of music intervention for improving psychological and physiological outcomes in critically ill patients, interventions that include nonmusic sounds have not been addressed in reviews of evidence. It is unclear if nonmusic sounds in the intensive care unit (ICU) can confer benefits similar to those of music.
Objective: The aim of this study was to summarise and contrast available evidence on the effect of music and nonmusic sound interventions for the physiological and psychological outcomes of ICU patients based on the results of randomised controlled trials.
Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of manual therapy and exercise therapy on otological symptoms in individuals with temporomandibular disorders.
Methods: A systematic review of clinical trials compared exercise and manual therapy with standard care or placebo/control for individuals with temporomandibular disorders. Otological-related symptoms (tinnitus, earache, ear fullness, vertigo, dizziness, and hypo/hyperacusis) were assessed.
Musculoskeletal pain is a global public health problem. Social marketing aims to increase adoption of desired behaviours in target audiences and may uncover new strategies to improve uptake of helpful pain-related behaviours at the population-level. We systematically evaluated effects of contemporary mass media campaigns targeting musculoskeletal pain and used social marketing benchmarking to explore strategies associated with campaign success.

While professional interpretation can help bridge this gap, uptake is exceedingly poor, suggesting the need for enhanced implementation and more accessible modalities. Our study will map the existing literature on interpretation/translation in emergency care, with a focus on the breadth of modalities, barriers/facilitators to implementation, and effectiveness/implementation outcomes.
