Treatment of wrist stiffness through posture orthosis and active exercise: A case report.

Introduction: Wrist fractures, particularly the distal radius, can result in significant stiffness and hand dysfunction if not mobilized early. The variable immobilization period post-fracture depends on fracture type, location, stability, and surgical intervention. Inadequate early mobilization typically leads to structured stiffness, influenced by patient health, injury mechanism, joint surface involvement, associated tissue injuries, and patient motivation.

The overexpression of the prostate cancer antigen 3 (PCA3) gene is well-defined as a marker for prostate cancer (PCa) diagnosis. Although widely used in clinical research, PCA3 molecular mechanisms remain unknown. Herein we used phage display technology to identify putative molecules that bind to the promoter region of PCA3 gene and regulate its expression.

PTHrP intracrine actions divergently influence breast cancer growth through p27 and LIFR.

The role of parathyroid hormone (PTH)-related protein (PTHrP) in breast cancer remains controversial, with reports of PTHrP inhibiting or promoting primary tumor growth in preclinical studies. Here, we provide insight into these conflicting findings by assessing the role of specific biological domains of PTHrP in tumor progression through stable expression of PTHrP (-36-139aa) or truncated forms with deletion of the nuclear localization sequence (NLS) alone or in combination with the C-terminus. Although the full-length PTHrP molecule (-36-139aa) did not alter tumorigenesis, PTHrP lacking the NLS alone accelerated primary tumor growth by downregulating p27, while PTHrP lacking the NLS and C-terminus repressed tumor growth through p27 induction driven by the tumor suppressor leukemia inhibitory factor receptor (LIFR).

Unravelling the role of mind-body therapies in paediatric palliative care: A narrative review.

Aim: Given the multifaceted nature of paediatric palliative care (PPC), integrative medicine and mind-body therapies, in particular, are increasingly used in this setting. However, to our knowledge, their use in PPC has never been specifically reviewed. Therefore, this work aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the application and possible beneficial effects of mind-body therapies in the PPC setting.
