Authors used a wild strain of classical swine fever virus Alfort A19, grown on PK15 cell culture. Virus is concentrated by ultrafiltration technique, inactivated with glycidaldehyde and then mixed with an oil adjuvant. Results have brought into evidence the absolute innocuousness of this vaccine and animals given 2 doses of 2.

After being vaccinated at 8 months, the ewe-lambs were covered between 9 1/2 and 10 1/2 months, then infected at 11 months with Br. melitensis strain 53 H 38 by instillation of 4 x 10(6) germs on the conjonctiva.

The migration of mice peritoneal macrophages has been studied on agar plates. The migration of the macrophages from mice treated by the intra peritoneal route by a somatic antigen of Bacillus subtilis, was 37% less than the migration of the macrophage from control mice. The presence of the antigen in the gel did not modify the migration of macrophages in either treated or control mice.

Treating the animals with a somatic antigen of Bacillus subtilis, reverses the aggravating effect of cyclophosphamide on the experimental infection. Similar results are obtained through the parenteral and the rectal routes.
