Multidisciplinary boards: Survey on the current situation and needs of Spanish radiologists.

Introduction And Objectives: The increasing participation of radiologists in multidisciplinary boards brings about advantages, challenges and specific needs. The aim of this paper is to identify the boards in which radiologists participate and to detect the needs, problems and opportunities that these boards pose for our specialty.

Methods And Materials: The Spanish Society of Medical Radiology (SERAM) conducted an ad-hoc survey that was distributed among members and through social networks.

Iodinated contrast media enable greater attenuation of vascular and visceral structures in radiological studies and are widely used due to their high degree of safety, easy administration, acceptable level of tolerance, wide distribution and rapid excretion, qualities determined by their composition. Automated power injectors are used to administer contrast media. Once injected, contrast is distributed throughout the body, remaining in the intravascular space during its first passage before reaching the organs and spreading into the extracellular interstitial space, followed by a recirculation phenomenon.

Introduction: Acute ischemic stroke is one of the leading global causes of morbidity and mortality. Mechanical thrombectomy has improved the functional prognosis of this condition; however, hemorrhagic transformation is a common complication. Spectral computed tomography (CT) imaging, as a neuroimaging control test, distinguishes contrast extravasation from hemorrhagic transformation due to the differential behavior of materials at dual energy levels.
