Tetanus Vaccination in Agricultural Workers: A Retrospective Study on Seroprevalence over 10 Years.

Background/objectives: Tetanus is a serious, non-contagious infection caused by , which remains a global health threat despite the availability of an effective vaccine. The current state of immunization for agricultural workers in Italy reveals significant disparities, reflecting a non-homogeneous distribution of vaccination coverage across regions and subgroups. The aim of the study was to investigate the prevalence of tetanus antibodies in a cohort of agricultural workers in Eastern Sicily in order to evaluate possible public health strategies for improving vaccination coverage.

Emerging occupational risks in green jobs: a review.

Green jobs are to be understood as those jobs directly associated with specific sustainability issues and activities related to the efficiency, quality and innovation of goods and services offered, from an eco-sustainability perspective. The objective of the research was to fill knowledge gaps of new and emerging environmental and occupational risks related to sustainable activities and to understand the impact these might have on workers' psychological and physical well-being. A selection of several scientific articles and a critical analysis of the selected articles was carried out from the perspective of defining the concept of "emerging occupational risks in green jobs," using different keywords in the title or abstract as search criteria.

Clinical pharmacology in adolescent transgender medicine.

Adolescent transgender medicine is a growing clinical field. Gender-affirming medications for transgender youth may include gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonists, gender-affirming hormones or both. To evaluate the potential effects of GnRH agonists (puberty suppression) on pharmacokinetic processes for transgender youth, we searched PubMed from inception to May 2024 for publications on the effects of GnRH agonists on drug absorption, distribution, metabolism or excretion for transgender adolescents or effects on hormones (including gonadotropins, adrenal androgens, sex steroids) that are associated with changes in drug metabolism during puberty in the general adolescent population.

Client Oriented Scale of Improvement in First-Time and Experienced Hearing Aid Users: An Analysis of Five Predetermined Predictability Categories through Audiometric and Speech Testing.

The aim of our investigation was to explore the relationship between unaided pure-tone and speech audiometry and self-reported aided performance measured according to five predetermined COSI categories among first-time hearing aid users and experienced hearing aid users. Data from 286 patients were retrospectively evaluated. We divided the sample into first-time hearing aid users (G1) and experienced hearing aid users (G2).

Transgender people in clinical trials of drugs and biologics: An analysis of ClinicalTrials.gov from 2007 to 2023.

Aims: Transgender people have unmet health needs related to chronic conditions such as dementia, osteoporosis and hypertension. Community-driven advocacy increased transgender representation in phase III trials for pharmacological prevention of HIV, but the extent to which drug trials for other conditions have included transgender people is unknown. We investigated the extent to which trials of drugs and biologics represented transgender people across therapeutic areas on ClinicalTrials.
