Restoration-repair potential of resin-modified glass ionomer cement.

This in vitro study aimed to evaluate the repair bond strength of resin-modified glass ionomer cement using either the same material or a universal adhesive in the etch-and-rinse and self-etch modes plus resin composite. Twenty-four resin-modified glass ionomer cement blocks were stored in distilled water for 14 d and thermocycled. Sandpaper ground specimens were randomly assigned to three experimental groups according to the repair protocol: resin-modified glass ionomer cement (Riva Light Cure, SDI) and universal adhesive (Scotchbond Universal Adhesive, 3M Oral Care) in etch-and-rinse or self-etch modes and nanohybrid resin composite (Z350 XT, 3M Oral Care).

Bacterial nanocellulose/calcium alginate hydrogel for the treatment of burns.

Purpose: Bacterial cellulose (BC) has shown high capacity for the treatment of wounds and burns, providing a moisty environment. Calcium alginate can be associated with BC to create gels that aid in wound debridement and contribute to appropriate wound healing. This study is aimed at characterizing and evaluating the use of bacterial cellulose/alginate gel in skin burns in rats.

Green synthesis of gold nanoparticles in an animal model of chronic wound induced with Resiquimod.

Cost-effective strategies for the treatment of chronic wounds must be developed. The green synthesis of gold nanoparticles (GNPs) it is possible to guarantee a lower toxicity in biological tissues and greater safety of applicability, in addition to adding the effects of nanoparticles (NPs) to those of extracts. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of treatment with biosynthesized GNPs in a chronic wound model.

Traumatic dental injuries and molar incisor hypomineralization: a cross-sectional study of schoolchildren from southern Brazil.

Purpose: To describe the prevalence and the variables associated with TDIs in schoolchildren aged 8 to 14 years in Estância Velha city in southern Brazil, placing emphasis on molar incisor hypomineralization.

Methods: Students enrolled in public schools of a medium-sized city in the southern Brazil were selected using cluster random sampling. Clinical examinations assessed molar incisor hypomineralization-MIH (European Academy of Pediatric Dentistry criteria), dental caries (DMFT index), and TDIs (O'Brien's criteria).

Linseed oil attenuates fatty liver disease in mice fed a high-carbohydrate diet.

The impact of linseed oil as a lipid source on liver disease induced by a high-carbohydrate diet (HCD) was evaluated. Adult male Swiss mice received an HCD containing carbohydrates (72.1%), proteins (14.
