Thermographic Scan of the Thoracolumbar Area in Dogs with Acute Intervertebral Disc Extrusion (IVDE): A Retrospective Study.

Background: several authors have documented variations in local temperature in both horses and dogs presenting acute intervertebral disc extrusion (IVDE) along the entire spinal column. However, none have demonstrated distinct temperature differences between healthy animals and those with IVDE. A retrospective study was conducted to assess the efficacy of thermography at evaluating local temperature and thermal patterns in healthy dogs as well in those with IVDE across the T11-L3 area.

Research on the Control of Gastrointestinal Strongyles in Sheep by Using or in Feed.

The general practice of sheep farmers in gastrointestinal helminth control is based on the use of commercial drugs, making chemoresistance very common. Considering this, our study focused on the biological control of gastrointestinal parasitism using high-tannin plant hay. Three groups of 30 animals each were formed.

[Study of adverse reactions in pulmonary tuberculosis patients treated with rifampicin].

The present study concerns the clinical appraisal of adverse reactions reported in the course of Rifampicin (RMP) treatment, reactions which have given rise to conflicting reports. The lot studied included 243 cases of pulmonary tuberculosis of which 57 were treated according to the 7/7 regime (600 mg RMP), 152 according to the 2/7 regimen (900-1200 mg RMP) and 34 according to the 7/7 followed by the 2/7 regimen. Tolerance to RMP was followed up by a series of adequate tests and close clinical surveillance.
