Predictions for neutrinos and new physics from forward heavy hadron production at the LHC.

Scenarios with new physics particles feebly interacting with the Standard Model sector provide compelling candidates for dark matter searches. Geared with a set of new experiments for the detection of neutrinos and long-lived particles the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) has joined the hunt for these elusive states. On the theoretical side, this emerging physics program requires reliable estimates of the associated particle fluxes, in particular those arising from heavy hadron decays.

Subleading power corrections for event shape variables in annihilation.

We consider subleading power corrections to event shape variables in collisions at the first order in the QCD coupling . We start from the jettiness variable and the resolution variable for the jet clustering algorithm and we analytically compute the corresponding cumulative cross section. We investigate the origin of the different power suppressed contributions in the two-jet limit and trace it back to their different coverage of the phase space.

Precise Predictions for the Associated Production of a W Boson with a Top-Antitop Quark Pair at the LHC.

The production of a top-antitop quark pair in association with a W boson (tt[over ¯]W) is one of the heaviest signatures currently probed at the Large Hadron Collider. Since the first observation reported in 2015, the corresponding rates have been found to be consistently higher than the standard model predictions, which are based on next-to-leading order calculations in the QCD and electroweak interactions. We present the first next-to-next-to-leading order QCD computation of tt[over ¯]W production at hadron colliders.

Improving the therapist's metacognition and capacity to intersubjectively attune with a patient with psychosis through the exploration of the therapist's developmental history: a case report.

Clinical literature emphasizes how symptoms of psychosis can be efficiently targeted by psychological treatments. The most well-known approach to these symptoms is cognitive-behavioral therapy; but in the last few decades also other approaches are enriching the landscape, focusing on the dysfunctions in mentalization or metacognition, a spectrum of mental activities involving thinking about one's own and others' mental states. This huge amount of theoretical reflection and empirical research focused on the implementation of treatments does not seem to be associated with an attention to the inner world of the therapist who relates to the patient with psychosis; for example, to the impact of the therapist's developmental history on the therapeutic relationship.

Manipulation Tasks in Hazardous Environments Using a Teleoperated Robot: A Case Study at CERN.

Remote robotic systems are employed in the CERN accelerator complex to perform different tasks, such as the safe handling of cables and their connectors. Without dedicated control, these kinds of actions are difficult and require the operators' intervention, which is subjected to dangerous external agents. In this paper, two novel modules of the CERNTAURO framework are presented to provide a safe and usable solution for managing optical fibres and their connectors.
