The Medical Institutional Repositories in Libraries (MIRL) Symposium: a blueprint designed in response to a community of practice need.

Background: Health sciences libraries in medical schools, academic health centers, health care networks, and hospitals have established institutional repositories (IRs) to showcase their research achievements, increase visibility, expand the reach of institutional scholarship, and disseminate unique content. Newer roles for IRs include publishing open access journals, tracking researcher productivity, and serving as repositories for data sharing. Many repository managers oversee their IR with limited assistance from others at their institution.

Background: Many ca. survivors exhibit signs of IR, an important risk factor for the development of CAD. CAC scans offer a risk assessment of CV disease before cardiac damage has occurred.

Ensuring Maintenance of Oral Hygiene in Persons with Special Needs.

Patients with special needs often must rely on inadequately trained caregivers for oral health maintenance. Consequently, full compliance is often not achieved. It is crucial that dentists carefully consider restorative materials and restoration design to maximize durability and facilitate cleansing in these challenging circumstances.

[Correlations of alternative medicine, health status and health care in Hungary].

Introduction: Alternative medicine has a growing popularity in Hungary as well as in other Western countries. However, we are in lack of accurate empirical data on the use of this kind of care and its relationship toward official health care system.

Aims: This paper focuses on the questions of the use of, prospective willingness to use, and attitudes toward alternative medicine with regard to the demographic background, general health status and habits of visiting doctors.

Correlated magnetic vortex chains in mesoscopic cobalt dot arrays.

Nucleation and annihilation of vortex states have been studied in two-dimensional arrays of densely packed cobalt dots. A clear signature of dipolar interactions both between single-domain state dots and vortex state dots has been observed from the dependence of vortex nucleation and annihilation fields on interdot separation. A direct consequence of these interactions is the formation of vortex chains as well as dipole chains aligned along the direction of the external field.
