Challenges for neurodiverse children in acute medical hospitals and opportunities for the new National Children's Hospital to be 'neurodiversity-friendly'.

Neurodiversity refers to the variation in human cognitive, sensory, and communication experiences and reframes deficits as differences. Rates and duration of hospitalisation in neurodiverse children are higher compared to their neurotypical peers. Despite increased admissions, paediatric medical hospitals are poorly equipped to adequately support their unique cognitive, sensory, behavioural, and communication needs, which can have negative impacts on the experiences of patients, families, and staff.

Pleomorphic dermal sarcoma of the auricular helix.

Cutaneous malignancies of the head and neck are common; however, superficial sarcomas of the head and neck are relatively rare. We present a 71-year-old unhoused gentleman with challenging access to medical care and poor health literacy who presented with a large, isolated, pedunculated mass of the left auricular helix. Preoperative biopsy was compatible with pleomorphic dermal sarcoma (PDS).

Open quantum dynamics with variational non-Gaussian states and the truncated Wigner approximation.

We present a framework for simulating the open dynamics of spin-boson systems by combining variational non-Gaussian states with a quantum trajectories approach. We apply this method to a generic spin-boson Hamiltonian that has both Tavis-Cummings and Holstein type couplings and which has broad applications to a variety of quantum simulation platforms, polaritonic physics, and quantum chemistry. Additionally, we discuss how the recently developed truncated Wigner approximation for open quantum systems can be applied to the same Hamiltonian.

Exploring Nonspecialist Preparedness to Deliver an Evidence-Based, Family Strengthening Intervention in Rwanda: A Qualitative Study.

Families in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) face significant mental health and psychosocial care gaps. In recent years, researchers and practitioners have addressed these gaps by task-sharing evidence-based mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) interventions to nonspecialist community providers. Supervision and training approaches are intended to prepare nonspecialists to deliver evidence-based interventions with quality.
