The authors studied the effect of gamma radiation and submaximum physical exercise on adenosine-5'-triphosphate (ATP), adenosine-5'-diphosphate (ADP) and adenosine-5'-monophosphate (AMP) contents in erythrocytes of healthy males. Twenty one men aged 20-22 years were examined. They underwent physical exercise at doses of 2 w/kg body weight for 15 min.

The purpose of the study was determination of the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD-1) in the erythrocytes of multiple sclerosis patients taking into consideration certain aspects of the disease, such as its duration, clinical form and course, age and sex of the patients. The study included 34 patients (17 males and 17 females) aged 19 to 56 years. The control group comprised 64 healthy subjects (25 females and 38 males) aged 19-59 years.

[Effect of the treatment with adrenocorticotropic hormone on the 2,3-diphosphoglycerate level in the erythrocytes of patients with multiple sclerosis].

The reported study was carried out in 20 patients with multiple sclerosis (12 women, 8 men) aged 23 to 54 years, with disease duration from 3 to 20 years. The patients were treated with the preparation ACTH-Polfa 2000 mg for one treatment course. The patients were divided into subgroups considering the age, disease duration, clinical form and clinical course of the disease.
