Climate intervention technologies such as carbon dioxide removal and solar geoengineering are becoming more actively considered as solutions to global warming. The demographic aspects of the public serve as a core determinant of social vulnerability and the ability for people to cope with, or fail to cope with, exposure to heat waves, air pollution, or disruptions in access to modern energy services. This study examines public preferences for 10 different climate interventions utilizing an original, large-scale, cross-country set of nationally representative surveys in 30 countries.

Article Synopsis
  • The LiverRisk score is a proposed blood test aimed at estimating liver stiffness and identifying patients at risk for compensated advanced chronic liver disease (cACLD) and liver-related events without prior known liver issues.
  • In a study involving nearly 7,500 patients, the score's diagnostic performance was evaluated against established methods like FIB-4 and APRI, revealing that while it moderately correlates with liver stiffness measurements, it tends to underestimate them.
  • Although the LiverRisk score demonstrated decent accuracy for predicting cACLD and hepatic decompensation, its limitations include a low negative predictive value, indicating it might not effectively rule out disease in some patients.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors are approved for recurrent/metastatic head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) but the response rate is only 13-18%. For an effective antitumor immune response, trafficking of immune cells to the tumor microenvironment (TME) is essential. We aimed to better understand immune cell migration as well as the involved chemokines in HNSCC.

Corallorazines are cyclic lipodipeptide natural products produced by the myxobacterium B035. To decipher the basis of corallorazine biosynthesis, the corallorazine nonribosomal peptide synthetase (NRPS) biosynthetic gene cluster was identified and analyzed in detail. Here, we present a model of corallorazine biosynthesis, supported by bioinformatic analyses and investigations on the bimodular NRPS synthesizing the corallorazine core.

Objective: Electronic health records (EHRs) often lack the necessary functionalities to support the full implementation of national clinical guidelines for pediatric care outlined in the American Academy of Pediatrics Bright Futures Guidelines. Using HealthySteps (HS), an evidence-based pediatric primary care program, as an exemplar, this study aimed to enhance pediatric EHRs, identify facilitators and barriers to EHR enhancements, and improve data quality for delivering clinical care as part of HS implementation and evidence building.

Methods: Three HS sites-each differing in location, setting, number of children served, and mix of child insurance coverage-participated in the study.
