Timeliness of antiretroviral therapy initiation in the era before universal treatment.

We assessed the prevalence and factors related to the time to antiretroviral (ART) initiation among persons who entered HIV care and subsequently started ART in Croatia from 2005 to 2014. Included were patients ≥ 18 years, the follow-up ended on Dec/31/2017. 628 patients were included into the study 91.

[Giant coronary thrombus as a complication of Kawasaki disease].

We report the case of a 3 yrs old boy with the most serious complication of Kawasaki disease. 2 dimensional echocardiography detected multiple coronary aneurysms and in the giant left coronary aneurysm a thrombus formation. The thrombus disappeared after one week anticoagulant therapy.

[Coronary artery anomalies studied by Doppler echocardiography in infancy and childhood--possibilities and limitations].

We investigated infants with Kawasaki disease, congenital coronary artery fistulas and anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary trunc (Bland-White-Garland syndrome) by 2-dimensional and Doppler echocardiography. We describe the systematic approach for visualizing in detail coronary anatomy by two-dimensional echocardiography. Our results suggest that this echocardiographic technique is useful for detecting coronary anomalies and has a great rolbefore angiocardiography especially in sick babies.

Right heart thrombus in infants and children.

The echocardiographic features and management of 10 children with right heart thrombus (RHT) are presented. The patients' ages ranged from 2 weeks to 12 years. Three patients were less than 3 weeks old.
