Melanomas show a wide spectrum of clinical, morphological, immunohistochemical, and molecular features, which can impact treatment and prognosis. Dedifferentiated and transdifferentiated melanomas (DTM) are defined as melanomas which have lost conventional melanocytic morphologic and immunohistochemical features, showing sarcomatous morphology and/or immunohistochemical staining of other cell lineages, and as such, can be mistaken for other entities such as collision tumors and undifferentiated spindle cell tumors. In this series, we highlight the utility of preferentially expressed antigen in melanomas (PRAME) in diagnosing undifferentiated/dedifferentiated melanomas.

Objective: In a recent sham-controlled 13-session prolonged continuous theta burst stimulation intervention protocol, recovery from upper limb fracture at both 1 and 3 months was better than anticipated in patients assigned to the sham intervention group. To determine whether potential placebo effect and close patient monitoring affected recovery, the current study aimed to compare clinical outcomes between sham-treated participants who also received standard care with similarly injured patients who only received standard care.

Methods: Twenty participants with isolated upper limb fractures from the sham group were seen 13 times post-fracture (1 baseline session, 10 treatments, and 2 follow-ups [1 and 3 months]) over 3 months.

Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), a non-invasive brain stimulation technique, has been shown to increase exercise performance in strength and cycling studies but its effects on running endurance remain unclear. The objectives of this randomized sham-controlled crossover trial were to assess tDCS efficacy on submaximal treadmill running time to exhaustion (TTE). Forty-five healthy male runners aged between 18 and 32 years (mean maximal oxygen consumption: 46.

The influence of genetic variants related to opioid use disorder (OUD) was evaluated using multiple logistic regression analysis in self-reported assigned African American/Afro-Caribbean and European biogeographical ancestry groups (BGAGs) and by sex. From a sample size of 1301 adult patients (>18 years of age) seen in emergency departments of three medical centers in Ohio, six variants were found to be associated with OUD. Two of the variants, rs2740574 (CYP3A4) and rs324029 (DRD3), were included in the analysis having met criteria of at least five subjects for each BGAG, variant carrier status, and OUD status combinations.

Introduction: Therapeutic interventions for disorders of consciousness lack consistency; evidence supports non-invasive brain stimulation, but few studies assess neuromodulation in acute-to-subacute brain-injured patients. This study aims to validate the feasibility and assess the effect of a multi-session transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) intervention in subacute brain-injured patients on recovery of consciousness, related brain oscillations and brain network dynamics.

Methods And Analyses: The study is comprised of two phases: a validation phase (n=12) and a randomised controlled trial (n=138).
