Learning strategies are a set of organized, conscious, intentional tasks performed by a student to achieve a learning objective effectively in a given social context. The aim of the present study was to determine the type and frequency of use of different learning strategies among students taking the subject "Comprehensive Clinic II ", which corresponds to the 3rd year of the 6-year general syllabus of the undergraduate course at the School of Dentistry, Buenos Aires University, and to analyze the use of these learning strategies according to the number of years elapsed between each students admission to dental school and the time he/she took that subject. Sunitinib is the currently standard treatment for metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC). Multiple candidate predictive biomarkers for sunitinib response have been evaluated but none of them has been implemented in the clinic yet. The aim of this study was to analyze single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in genes linked to mode of action of sunitinib and immune response as biomarkers for mRCC.

The Health of the Nation Outcome Scales (HoNOS) is a widely used measure of health and social functioning of people with mental illness. The goals of this study were to verify the internal validity of the one factor and several four-factor scoring structures and to evaluate the predictive validity of HoNOS items with regards to duration of hospitalization, probability of readmission in the following year and time before readmission. 6175 hospital stays at the department of psychiatry of Lausanne University Hospital were screened and the first HoNOS of each patient was taken into account (N = 2722).

Given the important modifications of the "Loi sur l'Assurance maladie (LAMal)", this article gives a contribution to the hospital planification by identifying the main factors that have determined the current organisation of the psychiatric care network. We notice a gap between the orientations of these networks and the funding scheme forecast in the framework of the LAMal. In order to preserve the progressions of these last years and to avoid the negative effects of a too restrictive funding act for the assignment of the public psychiatry, the planification must result in a consensus between the state, the insurances and the multiple actors of the mental health.

Purpose: We conducted a prospective phase II trial to evaluate the efficacy and toxicity of induction chemotherapy with paclitaxel plus carboplatin followed by concurrent radiotherapy with weekly paclitaxel in stage IIIB non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients.

Patients And Methods: Patients with stage IIIB NSCLC received two 3-week cycles of paclitaxel 200mg/m(2) combined with carboplatin (target area under the plasma concentration curve (AUC) of 6 mg/ml) followed by weekly paclitaxel 50mg/m(2) concurrently with radiotherapy consisted of 2 Gy daily, 5 days per week (60 Gy total dose in 6 weeks). The median follow-up period was 5 years.
