One year of ETI reduces lung bacterial colonisation in adults with cystic fibrosis.

The triple combination elexacaftor-tezacaftor-ivacaftor (ETI) has provided unprecedented clinical benefits for people with cystic fibrosis (pwCF) and drastically transformed the outcome of this disease. We aimed to describe the evolution of lung bacterial colonization in 198 French adult pwCF taking into account the use of concomitantly respiratory treatment. We collected sputum cultures produced during the entire follow-up period starting 3 years before and ending 1 year after ETI initiation.

IL-7 producing immunotherapy improves T cell functions of immunosenescent patients, especially post hip fracture.

Following acute stress such as trauma or sepsis, most of critically ill elderly patients become immunosuppressed and susceptible to secondary infections and enhanced mortality. We have developed a virus-based immunotherapy encoding human interleukin-7 (hIL-7) aiming at restoring both innate an adaptative immune homeostasis in these patients. We assessed the impact of this encoded hIL-7 on the immune functions of T cells from PBMC of immunosenescent patients with or without hip fracture.

Osteoporosis prevention: Where are the barriers to improvement in French general practitioners? A qualitative study.

Background: Osteoporosis prevention, diagnosis and treatment remain suboptimal.

Objectives: We conducted a qualitative study to understand barriers towards care initiation and levers to improve awareness and management of osteoporosis among general practitioners (GPs).

Methods: Semi-structured face-to face interviews were conducted with 16 GPs in the Rhône area of France to explore their knowledge and representations regarding osteoporosis.

Elevated IL-6/IL-1Ra ratio as a prognostic biomarker of poor chemotherapy efficacy in Chinese patients with metastatic NSCLC, validated in a Caucasian patient cohort.

The treatment options for advanced (stage IV) non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) at diagnosis remain disappointing. The development of immunotherapeutic drugs may represent a promising alternative approach to the treatment of late-stage cancer at diagnosis. These current paradigms in cancer treatment highlight the need for new biomarkers related to the immune status of the patients and/or the tumor microenvironment, for immune as well as chemotherapeutic treatment options.

Osteoporosis prevention: where are the barriers to improvement in a French general population? A qualitative study.

Unlabelled: We conducted a qualitative study with French men and women in order to provide insight into individuals' experiences, behaviors, and perceptions about osteoporosis (OP) and OP care. The data showed that both sexes, but especially men, were unfamiliar with OP, did not always feel concerned, and mistrusted pharmacological treatments.
