Background And Purpose: Around 30% of patients with epilepsy show drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE). While cannabidiol has demonstrated efficacy as an adjunctive treatment in Dravet syndrome (DS), Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (LGS), and epilepsy related to tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC), its more global effectiveness in adult patients with DRE apart from these three specific contexts needs to be clarified.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective study at the epilepsy unit of Pitié Salpêtrière Hospital.

A Nationwide Analysis in France on Sex Difference and Outcomes Following Carotid Intervention in Asymptomatic Patients.

The impact of sex on outcomes following carotid endarterectomy (CEA) and carotid artery stenting (CAS) is not fully elucidated. The aim of this study was to analyze the association between sex and outcomes of asymptomatic patients who underwent primary carotid interventions in France. This nationwide retrospective study was performed using the French National Health Insurance Information System and included asymptomatic patients who underwent primary carotid intervention over a 10-year period (1 January 2013 to 31 August 2023).

Optimising 4D imaging of fast-oscillating structures using X-ray microtomography with retrospective gating.

Imaging the internal architecture of fast-vibrating structures at micrometer scale and kilohertz frequencies poses great challenges for numerous applications, including the study of biological oscillators, mechanical testing of materials, and process engineering. Over the past decade, X-ray microtomography with retrospective gating has shown very promising advances in meeting these challenges. However, breakthroughs are still expected in acquisition and reconstruction procedures to keep improving the spatiotemporal resolution, and study the mechanics of fast-vibrating multiscale structures.

Light-Induced Unlocking Reactivity of Fragments for Fast Target-Guided Synthesis of Carbonic Anhydrase Inhibitors.

We showcase the successful combination of photochemistry and kinetic target-guided synthesis (KTGS) for rapidly pinpointing enzyme inhibitors. KTGS is a fragment-based drug discovery (FBDD) methodology in which the biological target (BT) orchestrates the construction of its own ligand from fragments featuring complementary reactive functionalities. Notably, fragments interacting with the protein binding sites leverage their spatial proximity, facilitating a preferential reaction.
