Pulmonary vascular disease is not a single condition; rather it can accompany a variety of pathologies that impact the pulmonary vasculature. Applying precision medicine strategies to better phenotype, diagnose, monitor, and treat pulmonary vascular disease is increasingly possible with the growing accessibility of powerful clinical and research tools. Nevertheless, challenges exist in implementing these tools to optimal effect.

Exercise testing is frequently incorporated into management of patients with cardiovascular and/or pulmonary disease. A lifelong commitment to exercise promotes cardiac remodeling, leading to changes in structure and function of the atria and ventricles, commonly referred to as the "athletic heart." The aim of this study was to compare the antibiofilm activity of silver-containing antimicrobial wound dressings in a dual-species simulated wound biofilm model.

Child, family and professional views on valued communication outcomes for non-verbal children with neurodisability: A qualitative meta-synthesis.

Background: There are many children with neurodisability who are unable to rely on speech to communicate and so use a range of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) methods and strategies to get their message across. Current instruments designed to measure the outcomes of speech and language therapy interventions lack specific attention to communication outcomes that are valued by non-verbal children with neurodisability, their families and support networks. This qualitative meta-synthesis was conducted to identify valued communication outcomes to inform the next stage of developing a novel outcome measure.
