Background: The success of implant therapy depends on the availability of an adequate bone volume in the edentulous site. In the case of posterior bone atrophy, the increase of the alveolar ridge is a prerequisite for the optimal placement of endosseous implants. [Mesenteric lymphangioma: report of a case].

Lymphangiomas are benign tumours that appears to arise from congenital malformation of the lymphatics. They are most commonly reported in the head and neck regions. The clinical presentation, diagnosis and treatment of a rare case of mesenteric lymphangiomas are reviewed.
