Here we describe, in an unprecedented way for the Brazilian Amazon, one Apicomplexa species infecting an anuran in Pará, Brazil, using an integrative approach that includes taxonomy, providing morphology, morphometrics, and molecular data. Samples were collected between February 2021 and February 2022 in the community of Curupira, municipality of Santarém, and in the industrial area of Marabá, both in Pará state. Specimens of and were captured by hand during the active search, and blood samples were collected by cardiac puncture.

Brazil is the largest consumer of shark meat, which is sold by fishmongers under the umbrella term cação. The population consumes this meat due to its low cost and lack of fish bones. In this work, morphometric measurements and metal/metalloid concentration (As, Hg, and Se) were assessed in the muscle tissue of species from Dasyatis spp.

Our study evaluated the concentrations of metals (Cu, Cd, Cr, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, Zn, and Hg) in muscle tissues of fish from igarapés, ressaca areas, and canals. Samples were collected from six sampling sites to investigate the bioaccumulation of these metals and their potential human health risks.

Background: Cosmetic injections are increasing, as their complications, which can be misdiagnosed as neoplastic lesions. This study aimed to detail clinical, pathological, histochemical, and immunohistochemical features of adverse reactions to cosmetic fillers in the oral and maxillofacial region.
Methods: Samples were retrieved from five pathology laboratories.
