Diagnostic performance of MRI-guided vacuum-assisted breast biopsy (VABB): an essential but still underused technique.

Background: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-guided vacuum-assisted breast biopsy (VABB) is an increasingly requested procedure, but it implies training and experience both in its execution and in determining radiological-pathological concordance and is therefore performed in dedicated breast centers. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the diagnostic performance of MRI-guided vacuum-assisted biopsy and to determine the upgrade rate after surgery or follow-up.

Methods: We retrospectively evaluated all consecutive patients with suspicious MRI findings without corresponding mammographic and ultrasonographic findings who underwent MRI-guided vacuum-assisted breast biopsy (VABB) at our Institution from November 2020 to March 2023.

Magnetic Localization of Breast Lesions: A Large-Scale European Evaluation in a National Cancer Institute.

Introduction: For decades the standard for preoperative breast lesions' localization has been wire localization. In recent years the options for nonwired localization have significantly expanded and include radioactive seeds, radar reflectors, radiofrequency identification tags and magnetic seeds. The aim of our study is to evaluate on a large scale the performance of preoperative magnetic seed localization of nonpalpable breast lesions.

Context: The internalizing of experience of stigma among patients with substance use disorders (SUDs) can be debilitating to recovery. Individual factors such as self-regulation and abstinence self-efficacy can impact confidence in recovery and hope for future.

Aims: The aim of the study was to explore relationship among self-stigma, self-regulation, self-efficacy, optimism, and confidence in recovery of patients with early-onset SUDs.

Psychometric properties of Fagerstrom Test of Nicotine Dependence: A systematic review.

The Fagerstrom test for nicotine dependence (FTND) is a widely used test for assessing physical nicotine dependence. However, there is a need to assess the psychometric properties of FTND to assess its role in treatment outcome studies. The aim of the present investigation was to review the psychometric properties of the FTND.

Substance abuse is a family disease that adversely impacts both the user and the user's family. The family can act as a risk factor for the development of substance abuse among children and adults. The family can also be involved in therapy to either help the recovery process or prevent substance abuse.
