An important pathogenetic link of preeclampsia (PE) is hypoxia of uterine-placental tissues, accompanied by damage of the vascular endothelium and the release of vasoactive mediators, violate vascular tone and microcirculation in the maternal organism and placenta and development of a number of pathological processes in the mother's and fetus body. The aim of the study was to establish metabolic abnormalities of oxidative metabolism of the placenta during experimental model of PE (uterine/placental hypoxia). Studies were performed in pregnant Wistar rats.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe influence of pregnancy on the function of thyroid gland on the one hand and the influence of dysfunction of this organ on duration of pregnancy on the other is a common and topical problem in medicine. For the study of this correlation, 77 pregnant women have been examined, 45 of which suffered from the thyroid gland dysfunction of different levels. According to the level of iodine excretion acute insufficiency has not been detected among the observed pregnant women; 7 (9%) of them had medium insufficiency and 14 (18%) suffered from moderate lack of iodine.
