Silicon oxycarbide (SiOC) exhibits good retention and a reasonable specific capacity and is an alternative to silicon used as an anode material for high-performance lithium-ion batteries. However, SiOC generally shows a low Initial Coulombic Efficiency (ICE), wasting the lithium from the cathode. This work explores different sol-gel routes to synthesize SiOC from silanes and compares their performance.

RNA helicase DHX9 is essential for genome stability by resolving aberrant R-loops. However, its regulatory mechanisms remain unclear. Here we show that SUMOylation at lysine 120 (K120) is crucial for DHX9 function.

Background: The assessment of the effectiveness of teaching interventions in enhancing students' understanding of the Pharmaceutical Care Network Europe (PCNE) Classification System is crucial in pharmaceutical education. This is especially true in regions like China, where the integration of the PCNE system into undergraduate teaching is limited, despite its recognized benefits in addressing drug-related problems in clinical pharmacy practice. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching interventions in improving students' understanding of the PCNE Classification System in pharmaceutical education.

Drug-target affinity (DTA) prediction is crucial to speed up drug development. The advance in deep learning allows accurate DTA prediction. However, most deep learning methods treat protein as a 1D string which is not informative to models compared to a graph representation.

Aberrant DNA/RNA hybrids (R-loops) formed during transcription and replication disturbances pose threats to genome stability. DHX9 is an RNA helicase involved in R-loop resolution, but how DHX9 is regulated in response to genotoxic stress remains unclear. Here we report that DHX9 is phosphorylated at S321 and S688, with S321 phosphorylation primarily induced by ATR after DNA damage.
