The antiarrhythmic effect of triamecain (mesocain) was studied in 104 patients with acute or chronic form of ischemic heart disease during 169 episodes of disorder of cardiac activity rhythm. It is shown that trimecain possesses marked antiarrhythmic activity manifested in disorders of automaticity and excitability as well as in cardiac fibrillation. Intolerance to the drug was a relatively rare occurrence.
