Background: The public health impact of new nicotine products will depend on their use by different population groups. We assessed the prevalence of nicotine pouch use among youth and adults in Great Britain (GB).

Aims And Methods: Cross-sectional annual Action on Smoking and Health Smokefree GB Adult Surveys 2020-2024 (n: 12 247 to 13 266, 18+) and Action on Smoking and Health Smokefree GB Youth Survey 2024 (n = 2872 11-18-year-olds).

Estimating Young Adult Uptake of Smoking by Area Across the United Kingdom.

Introduction: There is majority support in parliament and across the United Kingdom to implement a "smoke-free generation" policy which would mean people born on or after January 1, 2009, could never legally be sold tobacco. To explore the potential impact this policy could have, we estimated the number of young adults (18-25 years) currently taking up smoking each year by area across the United Kingdom.

Methods: Using data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), Annual Population Survey (APS), and Smoking Toolkit Study (STS), we estimated the total number of 18- to 25-year-olds taking up smoking each year, based on national estimates of population size (ONS) and the proportion who reported ever having regularly smoked (STS).

Abstract: The "hypotonic drink syndrome" is characterized by loss of appetite, normal activity levels and, in some cases, intestinal disturbances in children with an intake of more than 30% of the recommended daily calories in the form of non-dairy drinks. Diarrhea and growth retardation are possible complications due to the amount of nonnutritive calorie intake ("empty calories") contained in this type of hypotonic beverages.We present the case of an 11-month-old boy who suffered a "Squash drinking syndrome" requiring admission to the pediatric intensive care unit because of a status seizure secondary to a severe hyponatremia (118 mmol/L) due to massive ingestion of hypotonic drinks, such as squash.

Impact of E-liquid Packaging on Vaping Product Perceptions Among Youth in England, Canada, and the United States: A Randomized Online Experiment.

Introduction: Vaping is not risk-free but can help those who smoke to reduce harm to health and stop smoking. However, packaging of vaping products, including e-liquids, appeals to youth and might facilitate vaping among nicotine-naïve people. Standardized packaging of vaping products could moderate the appeal of vaping among youth.

Changing awareness and sources of tobacco and e-cigarettes among children and adolescents in Great Britain.

Introduction: It is illegal in the UK to sell tobacco or nicotine e-cigarettes to people under the age of 18 years, as is displaying tobacco cigarettes at the point of sale. This paper examined changes in exposure to display of these products in shops and sources of these products among children and adolescent users over time METHODS: Data from representative repeated online cross-sectional surveys of youth in Great Britain (11-18 years) were used (2018-2022; n=12 445). Outcome measures included noticing product displays and sources of e-cigarettes and tobacco cigarettes.
