Dengue is a viral disease present in many regions of the world. Aedes aegypti transmits it, and the most effective way to eliminate the mosquito is during the larval stage. Seaweeds possess metabolites with insecticidal properties, making them potential sources of new larvicides and viable alternatives to synthetic products used to control insect vectors of diseases.

[Extension of the term of validity of pharmaceutical patents by lawsuits: effects on centralized procurement and the private market].

In 2021, the sole paragraph of article 40 of the Industrial Property Law (LPI) was declared unconstitutional. As a result, some companies filed lawsuits seeking an extension of the term of validity of their pharmaceutical patents. This article aims to estimate the possible economic consequences of the extension of the term of patents in spending on medicines for centralized procurement and the private market.

Self-harm in the two years of greatest restrictions during the covid-19 pandemic: a cross-sectional study.

Objective: to analyze occurrence of self-harm, sociodemographic profile of victims and referrals in the first 24 months of the COVID-19 pandemic in São Paulo.

Method: cross-sectional study carried out by the Notifiable Diseases Information System with data on self-harm in São Paulo. The period outlined was March 2020 to February 2022.
