A special differential interferometer consisting of two gratings was developed for diagnostics of plasma density. Compared with other differential interferometers, our system has an important advantage that the shear distance, shear direction, and fringe width can be adjusted , enabling easy control of the parameters. This feature allows precise tuning of the two probe beams in the interferometer for rigorous differential phase diagnosis and more accurate information of the plasma density can be obtained.

Purpose: To evaluate the diagnostic performance of a robotically aligned optical coherence tomography (RAOCT) system coupled with a deep learning model in detecting referable posterior segment pathology in OCT images of emergency department patients.

Methods: A deep learning model, RobOCTNet, was trained and internally tested to classify OCT images as referable versus non-referable for ophthalmology consultation. For external testing, emergency department patients with signs or symptoms warranting evaluation of the posterior segment were imaged with RAOCT.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, an emphasis was placed on contactless, physical distancing and improved telehealth; contrariwise, standard-of-care ophthalmic imaging of patients required present, trained personnel. Here, we introduce contactless, autonomous robotic alignment of optical coherence tomography (RAOCT) for imaging of retinal disease and compare measured retinal thickness and diagnostic readability to technician operated clinical OCT. Study Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic performance of emergency physicians' interpretation of robotically acquired retinal optical coherence tomography images for detecting posterior eye abnormalities in patients seen in the emergency department (ED).

Methods: Adult patients presenting to Duke University Hospital emergency department from November 2020 through October 2021 with acute visual changes, headache, or focal neurologic deficit(s) who received an ophthalmology consultation were enrolled in this pilot study. Emergency physicians provided standard clinical care, including direct ophthalmoscopy, at their discretion.

Objective: To retrospectively compare the imaging characteristics of retropharyngeal density and associated findings for Kawasaki disease with those for non-Kawasaki disease, and identify the distinguishing features which aid the CT diagnosis of Kawasaki disease with retropharyngeal low density.

Materials And Methods: Among the enhanced neck CT performed in children less than 8-years old with clinical presentation of fever and cervical lymphadenopathy over a 6-year period, only cases with retropharyngeal low density (RLD) were included in this study. The 56 cases of RLD were divided into two groups; group A included cases diagnosed as Kawasaki disease (n = 34) and group B included cases diagnosed as non-Kawasaki disease (n = 22).
