Objectives: To investigate the diagnostic and prognostic values of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) CYFRA 21-1 in patients with leptomeningeal carcinomatosis (LMC).

Methods: Concentration of CSF CYFRA 21-1 was detected using electro-chemiluminescent immunoassay. The difference in level of CYFRA 21-1 between 61 patients with LMC and 200 patients with other neurological disease was evaluated, and diagnostic performance of CSF CYFRA 21-1 was investigated.

Background And Purpose: Acute myelitis patients exhibiting only sensory deficits upon initial presentation are not commonly encountered in clinical practice, but they definitely exist. Since acute sensory myelitis has not been investigated previously, this study evaluated the etiological spectrum of the condition with the aim of describing the clinical characteristics thereof.

Methods: Patients with acute myelitis who presented at the Ewha Womans University Medical Center (during 1999-2012) and the National Cancer Center (during 2005-2014) with only sensory symptoms as first clinical features were enrolled in this study.

Background And Purpose: This study investigated whether the topography of hypertensive pontine microhemorrhages (hPMHs) resembles that of larger primary pontine hemorrhages.

Methods: Sixty-nine consecutive patients with small-vessel disease underwent imaging with gradient-echo MRI, and 27 patients with hPMH were detected. Lesion size and location along the rostrocaudal (longitudinal), lateral (coronal), and anteroposterior (sagittal) axes were determined.
