A study in Japan estimated the daily intake of seven B vitamins using a total diet study (TDS) based on food content and national survey data from 2006.
The estimates showed that the daily intake for niacin, vitamin B12, and pyridoxine exceeded dietary reference values for adults aged 18-29.
The findings indicate that TDS is an effective method for assessing water-soluble vitamin intake, with a strong positive correlation to reported intake from the National Health and Nutrition Survey.
