Pituitary gonadotropins, follicle-stimulating hormone (Fsh) and luteinizing hormone (Lh), control oogenesis in all vertebrates. In particular, Lh plays a key role in stimulating the final oocyte maturation and subsequent ovulation. The biosynthesis and secretion of Lh are regulated by several neurohormones, including gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) and dopamine.

Moreover, it sought to offer suggestions regarding support for couples during pregnancy in urban areas. Methods We distributed self-reported questionnaires to pregnant women who participated in antenatal classes, organized by Public Interest Incorporated Foundation A, in four designated cities in the Kansai region of Japan.

We performed a biopsy of the uterine cervix to examine for cervical dysplasia, and diagnosed a diffuse large B-cell lymphoma transformed from mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma of the cervix. The patient presented with concurrent chlamydial cervicitis and received eradication therapy for Chlamydia trachomatis.

In 2000, a 63-year-old woman underwent optimal cytoreductive surgery for ovarian carcinosarcoma( International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics[FIGO]stage III c[pT3cN0M0]).

Methods: Nineteen patients who received CPT-11 and eleven patients who received PLD were enrolled. CPT-11 was intravenously administered at a starting dose of 60-100 mg/m(2) on day 1, 8, and 15 every 28 days, and PLD was administered at a starting dose of 40-50 mg/m(2) on day 1 every 28 days.
Cyclooxygenase (COX)-2 inhibitors have been reported to potentially modulate the resistance of cancer cells to chemotherapeutic drugs by affecting multidrug resistance 1 (MDR1) expression. In the present study, we investigated the association between COX-2 and MDR1 expression in endometrial cancers and evaluated the effects of the COX-2 inhibitor, etodolac, in combination with paclitaxel on paclitaxel-resistant endometrial cancer cells. The relationship between COX-2 and MDR1 mRNA expression was examined by quantitative PCR in 36 endometrial cancer specimens.

Herein, we investigated whether these antitumor effects could be assessed using endometrial cytological findings.
Study Design: Etodolac (400 mg b.
We encountered a 46-year-old woman with synchronous quintuple primary cancers. She did not present with any symptoms, and her tumors were discovered at a gynecological screening. She had clear cell adenocarcinoma of the right ovary, moderately differentiated endometrioid adenocarcinoma of the endometrium, moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma of the ascending colon, well-differentiated adenocarcinoma of the rectum, and poorly differentiated papillary adenocarcinoma of the left lung.

Intratumoral TP levels have been reported to increase in response to several chemotherapeutic agents or irradiation in both xenografts and clinical studies. In cervical cancer, however, only a few studies about changes in TP and DPD expression associated with cancer treatment have been published.

The incidence of meningeal carcinomatosis arising from malignant tumors of the uterine cervix is extremely low, only two patients with meningeal carcinomatosis arising from a uterine cervical neuroendocrine tumor have been reported in the English literature. Moreover, there have been no reports in which this was confirmed at autopsy.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTumor-associated macrophages (TAM) are known to possess the immunosuppressive M2 macrophage phenotype. They contribute to tumor growth, invasion, and metastasis by producing various mediators. Macrophages, especially M2 polarized macrophages, preferentially express CD163 and CD204, but few studies have investigated macrophage phenotypes in human ovarian tumors.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFCD163 is a member of the scavenger receptor cysteine-rich superfamily restricted to the monocyte/macrophage lineage and is thought to be a useful marker for anti-inflammatory or alternatively activated macrophages. In this study we used mass spectrometric analysis to determine that the antigen recognized by the antibody AM-3K, which we previously generated as a tissue macrophage-specific monoclonal antibody, was CD163. An anti-inflammatory subtype of macrophages stimulated by dexamethasone or interleukin-10 showed strong reactivity for AM-3K and increased expression of CD163 mRNA.
