It has also been demonstrated to be a noninvasive, safe, effective, and side-effect-free approach without needing medication.

Advanced Glycation End Products-Induced Alzheimer's Disease and Its Novel Therapeutic Approaches: A Comprehensive Review.

Advanced glycation end products (AGEs) accumulate in the brain, leading to neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer's disease (AD). The pathophysiology of AD is influenced by receptors for AGEs and toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4). Protein glycation results in irreversible AGEs through a complicated series of reactions involving the formation of Schiff's base, the Amadori reaction, followed by the Maillard reaction, which causes abnormal brain glucose metabolism, oxidative stress, malfunctioning mitochondria, plaque deposition, and neuronal death.

Isoniazid-induced pancreatitis: A systematic review.

Background: Isoniazid-induced pancreatitis is a potentially serious adverse drug reaction, however, the frequency of its occurrence is unknown. We conducted a systematic review to explore this adverse drug reaction comprehensively.

Methods: We performed an advanced search in PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, Ovid, and Embase for studies that reported isoniazid-induced pancreatitis.

A Rare Case of Primary Posterior Abdominal Wall Muscle Hydatid Cyst With Thoracolumbar Spinal Extension.

Primary intramuscular hydatid cysts are uncommon due to the contractile nature of muscles and their lactic acid content. Hydatid cysts with spinal extension are sometimes seen with primary vertebral body involvement. Our patient presented with a slow-growing posterior abdominal wall mass, and upon magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), it was revealed to be several cystic lesions in the abdomen wall with extension through the neural foramina into the spinal canal.

Diffuse Uterine Leiomyomatosis: A Rare Case of Symmetrically Enlarged Uterus.

A rarely reported case of diffuse uterine leiomyomatosis is observed in a 43-year-old nulliparous female presenting with abdominal distension and primary infertility. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the abdomen and pelvis revealed an enlarged uterus with multiple well-defined lobulated lesions of varying sizes, causing symmetrical uterine enlargement and displacing the adjacent bowel loops superolaterally. The compression of the bladder and inferior vena cava was seen without the involvement of the adjacent structures.

Double Blow in the Tropics: A Case of Concurrent Leptospirosis and Scrub Typhus.

A 34-year-old male, with no history of known previous disease, employed at a ginger farm in South India, presented with a four-day history of high-grade fever and headache. Initially, he received symptomatic treatment but was referred due to hypotension and persistent fever. Investigations showed leucocytosis, thrombocytopenia, abnormal liver function tests, renal dysfunction, and elevated C-reactive protein.

Bio-fabrication of calcium oxide nanoparticles from Coccinia grandis as a potential photocatalyst for dye degradation with antimicrobial activity.

In the current study, Coccinia grandis fruit extract was used to synthesize calcium oxide nanoparticles (CaO NPs) in an economical and environmentally friendly manner. UV-Vis spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy revealed that the phytoconstituents found in Coccinia grandis fruit extract facilitated the production of CaO NPs by acting as better stabilizing, biodegradable, and reducing agents. The synthesized CG-CaO NPs were also tested for photocatalytic activity in the breakdown of selective dyes such as methyl red, methyl orange, and methylene blue in the presence of sunlight.

Drying-Induced Flash Nanoprecipitation in a Sessile Drop: A Route to Synthesize Polymeric Nanoparticles.

Flash nanoprecipitation is a simple and scalable method to produce nanoparticles by rapid mixing of a polymer solution with an antisolvent. High-speed mixing devices for the continuous synthesis of polymeric nanoparticles and drug-encapsulated nanoparticles have been designed. In this work, we demonstrate a different approach to induce flash nanoprecipitation using the differential evaporation of solvents in a sessile drop.

Background Compelling observational data suggest that heightened levels of fasting blood phosphate are linked to a higher likelihood of cardiovascular disease, spanning across both the general populace and individuals grappling with chronic kidney disease (CKD). This study aimed to explore the possible correlation between carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) and blood phosphate levels among those afflicted with chronic renal dysfunction. Objective The primary goal of this study is to determine the potential association between blood phosphate levels and CIMT in patients with CKD.

Background: Sarcopenia and sarcopenic obesity are growing concerns associated with increasing diabetes incidence, but data from Indian diabetic cohorts are limited. This study examined the prevalence and clinical factors associated with sarcopenia and sarcopenic obesity.

This case report describes an elderly female presenting with pain in the right hypochondrium, a positive Murphy's sign, and a history of regurgitation and constipation. It highlights the value of imaging in the early diagnosis of this rare presentation of underlying malignancy.

Comparison of the Ability of Gadobenate Dimeglumine and Gadolinium Ethoxybenzyl Dimeglumine to Display the major Features for Noninvasively Diagnosing Hepatocellular Carcinoma According to the LI-RADS 2018v.

Objective: To compare the ability of gadolinium ethoxybenzyl dimeglumine (Gd-EOB-DTPA) and gadobenate dimeglumine (Gd-BOPTA) to display the 3 major features recommended by the Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System (LI-RADS 2018v) for diagnosing hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

Materials And Methods: In this retrospective study, we included 98 HCC lesions that were scanned with either Gd-EOB-DTPA-MR or Gd-BOPTA-M.For each lesion, we collected multiple variables, including size and enhancement pattern in the arterial phase (AP), portal venous phase (PVP), transitional phase (TP), delayed phase (DP), and hepatobiliary phase (HBP).
