Background: Three-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography (3D-TEE) is the primary imaging tool for left atrial appendage closure planning. The utility of cardiac computed tomography angiography (CCTA) and patient-specific computational models is unknown.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the accuracy of the FEops HEARTguide patient-specific computational modeling in predicting appropriate device size, location, and compression of the WATCHMAN FLX compared to intraprocedural 3D-TEE.
Intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) has historically had limited utility in complex structural interventions. Newer 3-dimensional ICE catheters have enhanced imaging and real-time functionality. We present a novel case of mitral valve transcatheter edge-to-edge repair where transesophageal imaging was limited by massive hiatal hernia and where complementary 3D ICE imaging enabled procedural success.

Objectives: This study constructed a DRT registry via a multicenter collaboration aimed to assess outcomes and predictors of DRT.

The sternal foramen, usually an asymptomatic osteological defect, can lead to catastrophic consequences if not recognized prior to certain medical procedures. This study reports the prevalence of a sternal foramen in two South Amerindian populations compared with other published populations. We evaluated the presence of sternal foramina using thoracic computed tomography scans of 1334 (48% female) participants from two indigenous populations of Bolivia (n = 900 Tsimane, 434 Moseten).

We present a rare case of a 77-year-old man who presented with sudden-onset chest pain and was admitted for a presumed acute coronary syndrome. Coronary angiography did not show significant stenosis and ruled out acute coronary syndrome.
