Climate change in the Southern Hemisphere has exerted impact on the primary production in the Southern Ocean (SO). Using a recently released reanalysis dataset on global biogeochemistry, a comprehensive analysis was conducted on the complex biogeochemical seasonal cycle and the impact of climate change with a focus in areas within the meridional excursion of the sea ice boundary-coastal and continental shelf zone (CCSZ) and seasonal sea ice zone (SIZ). The seasonal cycles of primary production and related nutrients are closely linked with the seasonal changes in sea ice and sea surface temperatures.

In this study, the CSEOF technique is used to investigate the physical and chemical mechanisms associated with the weekly PM variation in South Korea. For this end, 9 years of hourly measurements of PM in South Korea is used together with other gaseous contaminants (NO, SO, CO and O) and traffic counts at the toll gates. The diurnal variation of PM concentrations indicates a significant correlation with human activities; higher concentrations in densely populated areas with a large volume of traffics and vice versa.

In wireless communications, in order to increase spectral efficiency and to extend transmission coverage, a two-path successive relaying (TPSR) protocol has been proposed. Thus, in order to improve transmission performance of the CSS system, in this paper we apply the TPSR protocol to the CSS system.

Here, three major modes of summertime WNPSH variability are identified and corresponding environmental changes are investigated using cyclostationary empirical orthogonal function analysis. The leading mode exhibits a clear reinforcement of WNPSH associated with global warming.

Several mechanisms are proposed to explain the accelerated loss of Arctic sea ice, which remains to be controversial. In the present study, detailed physical mechanism of sea ice reduction in winter (December-February) is identified from the daily ERA interim reanalysis data.

Given the recent increasing severity of climate change manifested as surface warming, there has been a growing interest in how warming affects drought and the prospect of drought. Here we show the impact of boreal warming on the spring and early summer drought over North America using Cyclostationary Empirical Orthogonal Function analysis.

In wireless sensor networks, accurate location information is important for precise tracking of targets. In order to satisfy hardware installation cost and localization accuracy requirements, a weighted centroid localization (WCL) algorithm, which is considered a promising localization algorithm, was introduced. In our previous research, we proposed a test node-based WCL algorithm using a distance boundary to improve the localization accuracy in the corner and side areas.

Assessing potential linkages between sea ice retreat/thinning and the region's ancient and unique social-ecological systems is a pressing task. Tundra nomadism remains a vitally important livelihood for indigenous Nenets and their large reindeer herds.

The transducer has a useful wideband frequency characteristic extending from 10 MHz to over 150 MHz. Measurements of the phase velocity of the longitudinal waves are carried out using a 0.
