Background: Circulating microRNAs (miRNAs) are potential biomarkers for various kidney diseases. In this study, we aimed to identify a circulating miRNA signature for detecting acute kidney injury (AKI) in scrub typhus.
Methods: We prospectively enrolled 40 patients with scrub typhus (20 with AKI, AKI group; 20 without AKI, non-AKI group) and 20 healthy volunteers (the HV group).
Background: In this study, we investigated the clinical characteristics of acute kidney injury (AKI) in patients with glyphosate surfactant herbicide (GSH) poisoning.
Methods: This study was performed between 2008 and 2021 and included 184 patients categorized into the AKI (n = 82) and nonAKI (n = 102) groups. The incidence, clinical characteristics, and severity of AKI were compared between the groups based on the Risk of renal dysfunction, Injury to the kidney, Failure or Loss of kidney function, and End-stage kidney disease (RIFLE) classification.
TMS-HDMF-5z is a hybrid of the natural products mosloflavone and resveratrol. It was discovered to show potent inhibitory effects against lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced production of inflammatory mediators in RAW 264.7 macrophages.

However, identification of heat-killed K040706 (heat-killed LS06) using a validated method is not yet reported. Further, the underlying molecular mechanisms for its immunostimulatory effects in CTX-induced immunosuppressed mice remain unknown.

Both compounds presented a linear calibration curve ( ≥ 0.99) over a concentration range of 0.

Methods: From 2009 to 2018, 611 patients were diagnosed with scrub typhus. We divided the patients into two groups [normoalbuminemia (NA) vs.

Urinary microRNA (miRNA)-21 is a biomarker for acute kidney injury (AKI). We conducted this study to determine if a urinary exosomal analysis for this biomarker could serve as a novel diagnostic approach for detecting kidney disease. We investigated the clinical significance of urinary exosomal miRNA-21 levels for AKI in scrub typhus patients.

The prevalence of these bacterial colonies in renal transplant recipients are as high as that in intensive care unit patients. However, it is unclear whether donors with vancomycin-resistant colonization can be considered in renal transplantation.

Background: Abnormal chest radiographs are frequently encountered in patients with scrub typhus. This study aimed to investigate whether chest radiography on admission is significant as a predictive factor for acute kidney injury (AKI) in patients with scrub typhus.
Methods: From 2010 to 2016, 467 patients were diagnosed with scrub typhus in our hospital.

Electrical metal contacts formed with 2D materials strongly affect device performance. Here, we used scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) and energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) to characterize the interfacial structure formed and physical damage induced between MoS2 and the most commonly used metals, Ti, Cr, Au, and Pd. We further correlated the electrical performance with physical defects observed at the 2D interfacial structure.

Toward this end, achieving barrier-free contact to 2D semiconductors has emerged as a major roadblock. In conventional contacts to bulk metals, the 2D semiconductor Fermi levels become pinned inside the bandgap, deviating from the ideal Schottky-Mott rule and resulting in significant suppression of carrier transport in the device.

Methods: From 2011 to 2015, we enrolled 340 patients who were treated with CRRT for sepsis at the Presbyterian Medical Center. In all patients, CRRT was performed using the PRISMA platform.
Background: The aim of this study is to investigate the clinical significance of neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) and kidney injury molecule-1 (KIM-1) for acute kidney injury (AKI) in patients with scrub typhus.
Methods: From 2014 to 2015, 145 patients were diagnosed with scrub typhus. Of these, we enrolled 138 patients who were followed up until renal recovery or for at least 3 months.
Acute interstitial nephritis (AIN) is an important cause of reversible acute kidney injury and pathologically characterized by inflammatory infiltrate in the renal interstitium. () is a medicinal plant member of the Solanaceae family. Although has been traditionally used to treat various ailments such as pain, inflammation, and fever, it has also been reported to have a toxic effect, resulting in anticholinergic symptoms.

Methods: From 2010 to 2014, 160 patients were treated with IV or IH colistin. Of these, we included 126 patients who received colistin for > 72 hours for the treatment of pneumonia and compared the incidence and clinical characteristics of patients in the IV ( = 107) and IH ( = 19) groups.
Unlabelled: Backgound: This study evaluated whether the hydration status affected health-related quality of life (HRQOL) during 12 months in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients.
Methods: The hydration status and the HRQOL were examined at baseline and after 12 months using a bioimpedance spectroscopy and Kidney Disease Quality of Life-Short Form, respectively in PD patients. Four hundred eighty-one patients were included and divided according to the baseline overhydration (OH) value; normohydration group (NH group, -2L≤ OH ≤+2L, n=266) and overhydration group (OH group, OH >+2L, n=215).
In this study, the synthesis of porous titania-silica (TiO2-SiO2) composite aerogel at ambient pressure by using non-hazardous chemicals as a source of silica was investigated. TiO2-SiO2 composite aerogels were characterised and their photocatalytic performances were investigated for the removal efficiency of acetaldehyde and NO(x) under UV light. Results showed that porous composite aerogel with aggregated morphology, high surface area and an increased mesoporosity were formed.
