Article Synopsis
  • This study investigates the role of a proteasome inhibitor (bortezomib) in improving recovery after ischemia/reperfusion injury in rat sciatic nerves.
  • Bortezomib treatment resulted in faster recovery of motor functions, muscle contractile force, and reduced axonal degeneration compared to the control.
  • The findings suggest that proteasome inhibition could be a potential clinical strategy for treating nerve injuries caused by ischemia/reperfusion.
