Background: Patients with borderline resectable (BR) or locally advanced pancreatic cancer (LAPC) require complex management strategies. This study evaluated the prognostic significance of the perichemotherapy skeletal muscle index (SMI) and carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA 19-9) in patients with BRPC or LAPC treated with FOLFIRINOX.

Methods: We retrospectively evaluated 227 patients with BR or LAPC who received at least four cycles of chemotherapy between 2015 and 2020.

Four ML-DIC skins are fabricated with or without carbon nanotubes (CNTs) using a composite powder consisting of SrAl2O4: Eu,Dy (SAO), and acrylic resin, with CNT milling times of 48, 72, and 96 h for three of four skins, respectively.

An experimental and numerical study on the ejector pin's mechanics during automatic multistage cold forging (AMSCF) of an automobile wheel nut is conducted. The traditional, decoupled die structural analysis method (DDSM) of analyzing die structures as one of the post-processing functions is criticized, which uses the tractions exerting on the die parts predicted from the forging simulation under the rigid die assumption. To cope with the matter of the DDSM, a multibody treatment scheme (MBTS) is proposed to simulate the AMSCF process, emphasizing the ejector pin's mechanics, using an implicit elastoplastic finite element method.

Prognostic Significance of 18 F-FDG PET/CT Radiomics in Patients With Resectable Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma Undergoing Curative Surgery.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the prognostic significance of PET/CT radiomics to predict overall survival (OS) in patients with resectable pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC).

Methods: We enrolled 627 patients with resectable PDAC who underwent preoperative 18 F-FDG PET/CT and subsequent curative surgery. Radiomics analysis of the PET/CT images for the primary tumor was performed using the Chang-Gung Image Texture Analysis toolbox.

Methods: We performed single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) of treatment-naïve primary PDAC samples with and without paired liver metastasis samples to understand the interplay between ITH and TME in the PDAC evolution and its clinical associations.

High-detectivity and low-cost short-wave infrared photodetectors with complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) compatibility are attractive for various applications such as next-generation optical communication, LiDAR, and molecular sensing. Here, GeSn/Ge multiple-quantum-well (MQW) photodetectors with a dielectric nanohole array metasurface were proposed to realize high-detectivity and low-cost SWIR photodetection. The Ge nanohole array metasurface was utilized to enhance the light absorption in the GeSn/Ge MQW active layer.

Several in vivo swine models of benign biliary stenosis (BBS) have been recently reported for preclinical studies of novel endoscopic techniques and devices. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and feasibility of large animal models of BBS by using intraductal radiofrequency ablation (RFA) assisted by guide wire. Six in vivo swine models were made by using an intraductal RFA for cauterization at 10 W, 80 °C, 90 s in the common bile duct (CBD).
