Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic neurodegenerative disease with limited therapeutic options. Recombinant Fc multimers (rFc), designed to mirror many of the anti-inflammatory activities of Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IVIG), have been shown to effectively treat numerous immune-mediated diseases in rodents. In this study we used the experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) murine model of MS to test the efficacy of a rFc, M019, that consists of multimers of the Fc portion of IgG2, in inhibiting disease severity.

Purpose: We compared intravitreal injection of human adipose stem cell concentrated conditioned media (ASC-CCM) to injection of live ASCs for their long-term safety and effectiveness against the visual deficits of mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI).

Methods: We first tested different intravitreal ASC doses for safety. Other C57BL/6 mice then received focal cranial blast mTBI and were injected with the safe ASC dose (1000 cells/eye), ASC-CCM (∼200 ng protein/eye), or saline solution.

To characterize prognostic values of androgen receptor (AR) in triple-negative (TN) breast cancers, we investigated AR expression status and levels, explored an association of AR expression with metastatic disease, and correlated AR expression with Ki-67 in TN invasive breast carcinomas. AR expression was analyzed with immunohistochemistry in 121 cases of TN tumors. Thirty-nine cases had distant metastatic disease and 82 had locoregional disease only.
