Background: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the meditation-based intervention on obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
Methods: The following databases were searched up to April 2021: the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), EMBASE, Medline (via PubMed), PsycARTICLES, 4 Korean databases (Korean Medical Database [KMbase], Koreanstudies Information Service System [KISS], National Digital Science Library [NDSL], and Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System [OASIS]), and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI). The search terms related to meditation-based intervention and OCD were used.

This study was conducted to compare the efficiency of four enrichment methods of Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli by using the 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing and a predictive model. Four different methods (US FDA, ISO, Japan Food Hygiene Association and Korea Ministry of Food and Drug Safety) were used to enrich EHEC in kimchi inoculated with cocktails of EHEC strains (NCCP 13720, NCCP 13721, and NCCP 14134). The maximum growth rate (μ) and lag phase duration (LPD) were compared using the Baranyi model, and 16S rRNA targeted sequencing was performed with samples at the end of the exponential phase.

The electronic structure of radical emitters allows bypassing the triplet harvesting issue in current OLED devices. However, the nature of doublet excited states remains elusive due to the complex nature of emissive layers.

Peptidoglycan recognition proteins (PGRPs) are highly conserved PRRs that activate effector pathways such as prophenoloxidase cascade and Toll-like receptor pathway. In addition, PGRPs function as an enzyme, N-acetylmuramoyl-l-alanine amidase (NAMLAA), to directly hydrolyze peptidoglycan.

Although vaccination has decreased infection rates and disease severity, hospital visiting patterns and associated treatment changes related to orthopedics remain unexplored in the Middle East. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccination on individual departments dealing with musculoskeletal disorders in the United Arab Emirates.

Purpose: Rectal prolapse is known to be a rare condition in males compared to females. This study aimed to analyse the frequency of male rectal prolapse and compare the results of different surgical approaches performed at a single centre.
Patients And Methods: The authors included patients who underwent surgical treatment for rectal prolapse from March 2016 to February 2021.
The transfer of power stemming from the 2020 presidential election occurred during an unprecedented period in United States history. Uncertainty from the COVID-19 pandemic, ongoing societal tensions, and a fragile economy increased societal polarization, exacerbated by the outgoing president's offline rhetoric. As a result, online groups such as QAnon engaged in extra political participation beyond the traditional platforms.

The representative organic mono-molecule Alq3, which is a core material of organic light-emitting diodes, was used to detect light in the invisible UV region and visualize photoluminescence (PL). Alq3 shows absorption in the UV region and light-emitting characteristics in the green region, making it an optimal material for UV visualization because of its large Stokes transition.

However, the diagnostic utility of specific miRNAs is not consistent. This study aimed to discover blood miRNAs that are differentially expressed in Korean AD patients, evaluate their clinical performance, and investigate their role in amyloidogenesis.

Tail regulation plays essential roles in translational timing and fertilization in early development, but poly(A) tail dynamics have not been fully explored in post-embryonic systems. Here, we examined the landscape and impact of tail length control during macrophage activation.

Case Description: The patient is a 60-year-old male with chronic hepatitis B and C who was found on imaging to have a 5.5 cm mass in segment 7 of the liver.
Commonly, lignin macromolecules have limitations in application to the thermoplastics industries due to poor dispersibility and interfacial compatibility within ligno-bioplastics. In this study, the dispersibility and interfacial compatibility of ethanol organosolv lignin (EOL) in PLA-based ligno-bioplastic were improved by enhancing the thermoplasticity via oxypropylation. Further, three types of EOLs extracted from different severity conditions were applied to investigate the effect of the structural characteristics of EOLs on the changes in the thermal properties.

Biomarkers are the primary tools for clinical research, diagnostics, and therapeutic monitoring in clinical trials. They provide much insightful information, and while they are not clinically used routinely, they help us to understand the mechanisms of this disease.

To investigate the incidence of begomoviruses in Myanmar between 2017 and 2019, a field survey of tomato and pepper plants with virus-like symptoms was conducted in the Naypyitaw, Tatkon, and Mohnyin areas of Myanmar. Among the 59 samples subjected to begomovirus detection using polymerase chain reaction, 59.
